Invigorationg Orange Sugar Scrub

sugar sgcrub

I love the scent of oranges. The scent is so fresh and invigorating. If you shower in the mornings this is the perfect pick me up! The citrus smell wakes me up everytime and gets me ready for my day. Too keep your skin exfoliated and bright you need to use a scrub, sugar scrub or salt scrub, at least once every week or two. Personally I use it every 2-3 days!

Using a good scrub on my legs before I shave removes dead skin so the razor gets closer. I find I can shave less often when I use the sugar scrub which is always a good thing. Plus I notice I get less ingrown hairs. Sugar scrubs are so easy and versatile. You can make them any scent you like. I shower in the mornings so I like the orange to help wake me up.

Invigorating Orange Sugar Scrub

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup sugar (plus 1 to 2 tbsp. more to get desired consistency)
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil (melted)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 drops Orange Essential Oil
  • 1 tbsp. coarsely ground dried orange peel
  • clean container or jar with lid

Directions:

  1. Measure out your sugar.
  2. Add ground, dried orange peel.
  3. Stir in orange essential oil, melted coconut oil, and olive oil (*see note below).
  4. Pour into container

*Note: If the mixture is too dry, add a little more oil. If it is too oily, add more sugar until you reach the desired consistency. If it dries out a little after sitting just add in a little more oil and it will be as good as new.

We will be doing many more scrubs. Both salt and sugar with a variety of ingredients. I absolutely love homemade beauty products! If you have any suggestions or tips for new products you would like to see leave me a comment!
