It is almost Halloween!!!! This is my favorite holiday! I absolutely LOVE everything about Halloween from getting dressed up to all of the wonderful crafts we get to make. My boys are 3 & 4 so I really do not take them out trick or treating. Basically I just don’t trust people so we usually have a little get together at my house and go to community events. This year as a party favor we are making glow in the dark slime! Glow in the dark slime is fast and easy to make and I KNOW all of the kids are going to enjoy playing with it!
You can make the glow in the dark slime in any color you like. The paint does not change the color of the slime it is the food coloring that adds the color. I used neon green for this batch but you could use any neon color. I plan to use neon blue for my next batch!
- 1 – 5oz bottle of clear or blue gel Elmer’s glue
- 1 cup of warm water
- 2-3 tablespoons of glow-in-the-dark paint
- Green Neon Food Coloring
- 2 teaspoons of Borax
- 1/3 cup of warm water
- Mix 1 cup hot water, glue, paint, and food coloring in a bowl
- Mix 1/3 cup hot water and borax in another bowl
- Add 2 Tbsp borax solution to glue mixture and stir
- Add more borax as needed to get the consistency you want
Note ~ I used 2 tbsp. of the glow in the dark paint for this batch and it didn’t quite glow enough for me. I will be using 3-4 tbsp in my next batch.
To use as party favors you can put it into small disposable jello shot cups that you can buy at the dollar store. The packages have like 20 small cups for $1. Then you can glue on plastic spider or other Halloween accent to the top!
